Fat MezzMake a Booking Offer Fat Mezz is a rock band out of South Jersey who, after getting their start in 2020, began playing shows in the Philadelphia area and down the Jersey shore, primarily in Wildwood, NJ. After several years of consistently playing cover shows full time, in mid 2023, they released their first original tracks, a two song EP titled âFat Mezz Loves Cooterâ. Cooter, whoâs illustration is featured on the cover, being the bands beloved basset hound. The band consists of Billy Thoden and Kurt Foster both playing lead and rhythm Guitar, Dom Levy on Bass, & Corey Chodes on Drums. All four are talented vocalists, constantly trading off lead, background, and harmonic vocals. The four grew up across south Jersey, all of them playing shows and picking up early on-stage experience as teenagers. Meeting each other and playing on and off through the years they eventually joined forces. After playing under several different names they settled on Fat Mezz. The Bands name is a tribute to Milton âMezzâ Mezzrow, a Jazz Clarinetist and saxophonist, as well as an outspoken civil rights advocate, and infamously, one of the most well know marijuana dealers in the NYC jazz community.Fat Mezzâs sound is rooted in a mix of Blues, Rock, Jam, Psychedelia & Soul. Their original music aims to reflect on their influences, bands of the past and present whoâve been cemented as pioneers and superstars as well as those whoâve been who undeservingly forgotten. The bands goal is to blend vintage sounds with new and deliver them to fans of all ages.

To become a booking agent, you should gain relevant education in music business, music management, communications or marketing, followed by industry experience through entry-level positions at talent agencies.
What does a Music Agent do? Music agents work with artists to schedule concerts, tours, and in-person appearances, and to negotiate fees and contracts for those bookings. For up-and-coming clients, this may mean working the phones to book a string of club dates or secure an opening slot with a more established act.
The final Zach Top booking price is contingent on many variables and the booking fee we may show is based on a range derived from our past experience with what will Zach Top charge for an event. An example fee to book Zach Top is in the starting range of $40,000-$74,999.
At a smaller agency, salaries range from $40,000 to $225,000. As a general rule, RAs are expected to bring in annual commissions equal to three times their salaries. Bonuses are sometimes doled out on bookings that exceed that level.
Typically, a Booking Agent receives both a base salary and a commission. The commission comes from every deal they make, it's a percentage of the sale. This percentage–the commission rate–varies from agency to agency.
Booking agents work on a commission, which is typically between 8% – 15%. The traditional amount is 10%. If you're a smaller artist who doesn't sell many tickets your agent may want more. As you grow in stature you (or your manager) will be in a position to negotiate.
Agents primarily focus on representing talent in seeking and securing employment. They help their clients get paid and assist them in making connections. On the other hand, managers focus on shaping and maintaining the overall image and progression of an artist's career.
Booking agents and venue managers want to see that you have a movement. They're gonna check your following. That's not the only thing that matters though. They also want to see that you've been on your grind.
