Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone feature a large roster of carry-over weapons from the previous installment of the franchise, Modern Warfare 2. Though a majority of the weapons from MW2 have been rendered somewhat obsolete, standout weapons like the Kastov 762 and the M4 have slowly crept up the meta slightly. Surprisingly, another weapon has also been made viable with the introduction of Season 4: the Crossbow.

The Crossbow is a Marksman Rifle that first featured in Modern Warfare 2 but is still available for players to use in both Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone. Though more of a gimmicky weapon as opposed to a meta option, the Crossbow has quickly surged in popularity thanks to its one-shot capabilities in Battle Royale. Best Crossbow MW3 & Warzone Loadout

Unlike most other weapons, players can use the same build for the Crossbow regardless of what game they are playing. The main focus for the attachments is the Blastcap 20'' Bolts, as running them will make the Crossbow a reliable one-shot kill for Warzone when factoring in the explosive damage they bring. The other attachments listed below work well at boosting the range, mobility, and handling of this weapon. While recoil control has taken a small hit, it does little to harm the potential of the Crossbow - allowing it to shine especially on Rebirth Island.

Best Equipment (Modern Warfare 3)

• Infantry Vest (Vest) - Great for providing a boost in mobility by increasing both the duration of the player's Tactical Sprint, along with reducing its refresh time.
• Scavenger Gloves (Gloves) - An absolute must-use for the Crossbow, as the weapon has a low ammo reserve. Provides players with the means to resupply their bolts from eliminated enemies.
• Lightweight Boots (Boots) - Synergizes well with the Infantry Vest by boosting both base movement speed and swim speed.
• Mag Holster (Gear) - Another must-use for the Crossbow. Increases the reload speed of each Crossbow bolt, which is remarkably slow when compared to most other weapons.

Best Perks (Warzone)

• Double Time - Works just like the Infantry Vest for Multiplayer, providing players with an extended Tactical Sprint duration, along with improved refresh times.
• Sleight Of Hand - Functions much like Mag Holster, and is a must use for the Crossbow to counter its slow reload speeds.
• Quick Fix - Allows players to quickly kickstart their health regeneration after replacing armor or getting a kill. This is great for saving the player from death following the short delay between hitting an opponent with a bolt and the bolt exploding.
• Resolute - Boosts movement speed while taking damage. This is great for minimizing trades after landing a shot on an opponent and waiting for the bolt to detonate.

Recommended Secondary

The Crossbow is not exactly a versatile weapon in either Multiplayer or Battle Royale, so players will greatly benefit from taking a swap-to-Secondary in both game modes. For Modern Warfare 3, weapons from the Handgun category will more than suffice, with the WSP Stinger and the COR-45 standing out the most.

For Warzone, however, a Handgun simply will not cut it. Instead, an Assault Rifle capable of performing well from medium to long range will do the trick. Some of the best Assault Rifles for Season 4 include the BP50, the MCW, and the Holger 26. However, if players are looking for a good SMG that performs well at medium range, the Superi 46 is also a good consideration.
