Patsy Ruth Fletcher Patsy Fletcher went to meet her Lord on Dec. 19, 2023, after a brief illness. She was born to Stanley Robert and Dol- lie Mae Peavy Fletcher on the Ides of March, March 15, 1951 in Winnsboro, La. and lived her entire child- hood in Baskin, La. After graduating in 1969, she enrolled at North- east Louisiana University where she earned a B.A.
degree in 1972. She moved to Lake Charles, where she obtained her M.ED. in 1976, earning her at McNeese State University. Freshly out of col- lege, Pat accepted her first teaching position at Grand Lake High School in Cameron Parish, La. This teaching role would estab- lish her career of over four decades.
Pat blessed Grand Lake with her unique blend of quirkiness and compas- sion as a true champion of academia sharing her love of British and American literature with her stu- dents. She was an active and faithful member of Trin- ity Baptist Church where she became a valued vol- unteer visiting elderly members and attending to their needs until her death. voice was very soft, but her life spoke loudly of the Christian values she shared of gen- erosity, encouragement, and compassion. She did not have to talk about her daily walk with God, she simply lived it. Her love of music brought much peace to her, and she was gifted with a beautiful voice.
Pat was not merely an educator and caring men- tor but to anyone she chanced to meet in the grocery store line, getting tires, or wherever she was, people found solace in her genuine compassion as she shared inspirational stories and heartfelt ad- vice. It was not uncommon for her to break out into an impromptu song or to show love by giving them a nickname or a of the She never failed to celebrate those she held close on birthdays or spe- cial occasions with her signature cards, complete with any variety of stick- ers and filling every space with her heartfelt wishes. Pat was known as Cat to many. Her stories and pictures of her beloved cats left no doubt she loved them with her whole self. Glyn Allen Howell Early on Christmas morning, Glyn Allen How- ell went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Je- sus Christ. Glyn, a 1957 alumnus of Sulphur High School, captained the Golden Tornado football team and was an avid foot- ball fan. He loved watching his two sons and grandson play high school football, Ricky Sweeney for the LaGrange Gators, Kevin Howell for the Sulphur Golden Tornadoes, and Chandler Sweeney for the Barbe Buccaneers.
Glyn was proud of his youngest daughter, Chelsie Howell, for her singing, writing, and artistic abilities, and his eldest daughter, Devin Howell Rubin, for her pas- sion, commitment, and unwavering faith in serv- ing Christ while helping others. A wealth and honor can be mea- sured by the strength of his children. Glyn was a great man, full of strength and honor. Glyn joined the US Army after graduating from high school. Glyn, a retired ma- chinist from Citgo, was an active union member for over 30 years.
In addition, Glyn was a master carpen- ter and a very gifted man. Glyn faithfully supported the underprivileged, gave alms to Israel, and was a longtime member of the Apostolic Temple Pen- tecostal church in Lake Charles, La.
